CabaretOur Spring musical production of Cabaret was performed May 19 & 20, 2006.
Set in the Kit Kat Klub, a seedy nightclub in Berlin in 1931, this musical follows an American writer, Clifford Bradshaw and his romance with Sally Bowles, an English singer at the club during the coming to power of the Nazis under the reign of Adolf Hitler.
Cabaret was originally produced on Broadway in 1966, based upon John Van Druten's play "I Am A Camera". It's original New York run was from 1966-1969, winning many Tony awards in 1967 for Best Musical, Best Composer & Lyricist, among others. The musical has been revived twice to date -in 1987 and 1998.
Exit 7's production featured the 1998 Revival Edition, which is currently the third longest running revival in Broadway musical history. Cabaret ran a total of 2,377 performances and 37 previews before closing January 4, 2004.
Featuring the direction of Dan Derby, the musical direction of Nate Newton, the choreography of Li Ciaglo and the technical direction of Paul Hamel, this show was one of the highest quality performances that you, our patrons, have come to know and expect of Exit 7.
