Carrie the Musical Auditions

Exit 7 Players Theater is proud to present Carrie the Musical this Fall! We are looking for a cast of 20 - 30 performers. Every person will have an important part in bringing this dynamic show to life. Performers of any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, status of disability and more are encouraged to audition. We welcome a community of all different backgrounds and celebrate diversity.

 

Please note that performers must be 16+ by the time of performances. Any performer under the age of 18 must have an adult guardian reach out to the production team for additional information about the musical 's potentially disturbing themes. A permission slip will be required for any performer who is under the age of 18 and wants to audition. No one under the age of 18 will be able to participate in the fight choreography to be staged for “The Destruction”.

 

We are seeking mature, responsible performers capable of handling content related to strained parental relationships, high school bullying, religion, romantic relationships, betrayal, death, fight choreography, the use of blood and more.

 

Transparency with rehearsal conflicts for the entire process are extremely important, as the rehearsal schedule will be structured around performer availability. The schedule will be released in 3 week increments, and especially once it is released, it is very important to avoid added conflicts.

 

Synopsis:

Carrie White is a teenage outcast who longs to fit in. At school, she’s bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s dominated by her loving but cruelly controlling mother. What none of them know is that Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it.

 

Schedule:

Rehearsals are scheduled for Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Performances are scheduled for October 30th - November 1st, November 6th - 8th, and November 13th - 15th.

Character Descriptions:

CARRIE WHITE – A shy outsider bullied at school and tightly controlled at home by her religious mother. She transforms from vulnerable “ugly duckling” to powerful, vengeful force.

 

MARGARET WHITE – Carrie’s devout and unstable mother. Torn between fierce religious conviction and deep maternal love.

 

SUE SNELL – A popular, high-achieving student with a strong conscience. After participating in a cruel prank, she seeks redemption.

 

TOMMY ROSS – Popular athlete and top student with unexpected sensitivity and poetic instincts.

 

CHRIS HARGENSEN – Wealthy, spoiled, and manipulative popular girl. Cruel, confident, and volatile.

 

BILLY NOLAN – Chris’s bad-boy boyfriend, a troublemaker with a “wily” charm. Frequently in detention.

 

MISS LYNN GARDNER – Strict but compassionate PE teacher who becomes a protective, maternal figure toward Carrie.

 

MR. STEPHENS – Well-meaning English teacher and guidance counselor overwhelmed by his students and school environment.

 

REVEREND BLISS – A fire-and-brimstone preacher who amplifies the show’s religious intensity.

 

FRIEDA – Easygoing, academic, and cooperative friend. NORMA – Gossip-driven, status-seeking follower of Chris.

 

HELEN – Giggly, immature, and eager to fit in.

 

GEORGE – Tommy’s loyal jock friend and admirer.

 

STOKES – Nerdy but eager to belong in the group.

 

FREDDY – Wisecracking class clown and yearbook photographer.
