Annie Auditions

Exit 7 Players will present Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and book by Thomas Meehan, from November 7-23, 2025, at the Exit 7 Players Theater, 37 Chestnut Street, Ludlow MA 01056.
Auditions will be held at the theater on June 22, June 23, June 25, and June 26.
Annie, based on the famous comic strip, follows the title hero, 11-year-old orphan and eternal optimist Annie, who warms the heart and changes the life of a billionaire capitalist, foils hilarious and heartless villains, and inspires a struggling country to believe that a better tomorrow is always a day away.
Annie will be directed by Jeffrey Flood, with music direction by Deb Salli, and choreography by Michelle Linnehan. Annie is being produced by Adam Malmborg, Rebecca Meek, and Jami Wilson.
Auditions for adult characters are Sunday, June 22 and Monday, June 23 at 7pm. Auditions for orphan girls and Annie are Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26 at 6pm. Callbacks will be on Monday, June 30 at 7pm, by invitation.
Information and Signups
We will hear auditions from performers who are age 6 or older as of June 30, 2025. Minors not auditioning for one of the orphan characters should audition as an adult; older teens will be considered for the adult ensemble.
Exit 7 Players seeks a diverse audition pool. The roles in Annie are all either male or female, but the production team will consider casting performers who can portray the characters as written. Please register for an audition slot here.
Auditions will consist of a singing audition, reading sides from the script, and a dance audition (dress for movement). Bring your talent, bring your energy, bring your enthusiasm—and don’t worry about perfection!
A note on fairness in casting from the director: Following callbacks, as I cast roles, I ask my team members to tell me who they would cast before I state my opinion. I’ve found this to be the most organic route to an equitable casting process.
