25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee | | | Performance dates are April 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28 at 8:00 PM and April 15 and April 22 at 2:00 PM.
THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders (played by adults) vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time. These six young people are in the throes of puberty and overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. During their spelling bee journey, they learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.
This show will be directed by Tom LeCourt and musically directed by George Garber.
This show has been given a PG-13 rating for mature language and subject matter.
